About R.E.D.

This book, Regional Economic Diversity (R.E.D.), explores such questions that lie at the core of decisions that business leaders, investors, multilaterals and policymakers have to make, in order to be future ready. It uses evidence to underscore that a vibrant regional economy is the backbone of progress.

Authored by
Dr. Poornima Dore and
Dr. K. Narayanan.

A highly significant piece of work, this handy and versatile book delves into regional patterns of growth,
and the implications of such growth on socio-economic development. I strongly recommend this book.

-- Shri. Amitabh Kant, IAS, Chief Executive Officer - NITI Aayog

A stellar contribution … the implications for both private and public sector in terms of sectoral planning, fiscal incentive design and employment generation are far-reaching. -- Dr. Meenakshi Gopinath,
Chairperson – Centre for Policy Research

This is a competent analysis at the micro-level, on a subject which is usually viewed at the macro level.
Hence its use for future policy-making is great, a worthy read.

--Mr. R. Gopalakrishnan, Author and
Corporate Advisor, Ex-Director, Tata Sons Ltd.
